Job Description:
In this role, you will be instrumental in forging new merchant partnerships and maintaining relationships with merchants and partners, enabling them to maximize their growth through the Bigstore platform.
Your role will be focused on contributing to new acquisitions (50% of the time) through hunting, specifically physically and phone/email-based prospecting and recruiting new merchants who can bring their competitive range of products, pricing, and availability to Bigstore. You will also work with merchants as an account manager (50% of the time) – helping them to launch and grow on Bigstore by ensuring they understand Bigstore products, services, systems, and tools. Lastly, you will be responsible for using feedback from the merchants to identify opportunities to improve Bigstore’s products, services, processes, systems, and tools.
Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and recruit high-potential merchants through Physical visits and via phone and email.
- Pitching the Bigstore Product to Merchants for potential partnerships
- Effectively prioritize and manage a pipeline of merchants to consistently meet/exceed quarterly targets.
- Be a partner for new merchants, providing them with -data-driven insights and advice to optimise their success on Bigstore.
- Work closely with new merchants, educating them about Bigstore’s high standards of Delivery and Customer Experience.
- Enable merchants to learn and master Bigstore’s tools and system so they may become self-sufficient in managing their catalogue, inventory, and performance efficiently and to the required standards.
- Learn and understand the specificities of various merchant categories to spot trends, seasonal items, and competitive pricing to best tailor your pitch and advice to merchants.
- Track and report development results, and analyze, and interpret reports and information for your portfolio of merchants.
- Support merchants by acting as a liaison between merchants and the company to ensure support with payments, logistics and more.
- Prioritize your time optimally to achieve your targets in a KPI-driven environment.
- Market Analysis: Regularly analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and customer preferences to inform merchant strategies and contribute to the platform’s continuous improvement.
- Promotion and Advocacy: Promote the benefits of partnering with Bigstore to potential merchants, demonstrating how our platform can help them reach more customers, enhance sales, and grow their business.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, customer service, and product development, ensuring alignment in strategies and objectives for maximum impact.
- Reporting and Evaluation: Track, analyze, and report on merchant performance and contributions, using insights to drive improvement and innovation.
Requirements:
- Experience in Sales, Business, Marketing, or a related field is required, and a bachelor’s degree is optional.
- Proven experience in partnership development, e-commerce, or a related role.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and develop strategic business partnerships.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
